The Sebring Office is nestled in central Florida and is nicknamed ‘The City on the Circle”, in reference to Circle Drive, the center of the Sebring Downtown Historic District. Sebring is the home of the Sebring International Raceway and hosted the 1959 Formula One Grand Prix. Best known as the host of the 12 Hours of Sebring, an annually held American Le Mans Series Race. Nearby Highlands Hammock Park is also a popular attraction.

The Antilles Area Office is located within a short drive from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport, historic Old San Juan, and most popular tourist attractions and beaches. Puerto Rico, a US territory, is designated as OCONUS Non-foreign area. Salary shown in this vacancy announcement includes a Locality Payment of 15.37% for this OCONUS Non-Foreign Area. An adjusted Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) rate of 3.48% is not reflected in the salary shown for this position.

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for administration and oversight of construction contracts for the South Florida Area office to include: Demolition, new construction, rehabilitation of existing structures, and implementation of temporary flood risk reduction features.
Reviews contract plans/specifications covering heavy civil works construction and appurtenant mechanical and electrical installations.
Works with other Corps of Engineers team members, architects, engineers and construction contractors to ensure requisite quality control is maintained, work is performed in accordance with contract provisions.
Ensures technical problems during site preparation and construction operations are resolved with minimal impact on project execution
