Admission requisites for Graduate Programs
The minimum requisites to enter the graduate programs are the following:
- To have an academic graduation rate of 2.50 or more, or to have an academic specialty rate of 3.00 or more, or to have approve in the last four semesters of the Bachelor’s Degree a minimum of sixty (60) credits with an academic rate of 3.00 or more.
- To be evaluated and recommended by the Departmental Graduate Committee.
In addition, an admission request should be included with three recommendation letters of people who has evaluated the student’s academic performance and original academic file with the approved courses in all the institutions in which the student had studied before.
Credits in transfer
For the master’s program the total of credits to accept in a transfer is up to a maximum of 12 approved credits from the student at a graduate level from another accredited college institution that can be used to satisfy the program’s requirements. Of these, a maximum of 6 credits can be approved by the student, before being admitted to campus. The remaining six credits can be approved after being admitted to the campus, with the approval of the corresponding authorities.
For the doctorate program, the total of credits to accept in a transfer is up to a maximum of 30 approved credits at a graduate level from another accredited college institution.
Time limit to complete a degree
The minimum time limit to complete the course requirements for a master’s degree consists of three semesters. The maximum time limit permitted to obtain a master’s degree is six years.
The minimum time limit to complete the course requisites for a doctoral degree is of three years. The maximum time limit is ten years if the student initiates studies with a bachelor’s degree and eight years if the student initiates studies with a master’s degree.
